Bioartography Travel Award Announcement and Application

Purpose: This travel award is intended to provide funding for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to participate in scientific meetings and conferences.

Award Amount: $1,000 maximum award amount.

Application Deadlines:

March 3, 2008
June 1, 2008
October 1, 2008

All applications must be submitted prior to conference. Applications will not be considered for retroactive funding.

Submitted applications must include the following:

1. Completed application form (download form)
2. A copy of the confirmation of meeting registration (emails are acceptable)
3. A copy of the confirmation of meeting presentation (emails are acceptable)
4. Applicant's current CV
5. Letter/memo from the applicant's advisor describing how the conference participation is directly relevant to the applicant's research or studies, and/or other justification for funding need.
6. Advisor's NIH biosketch including other support.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Funding for Organogenesis travel awards is provided by the Bioartography project. All awardees will be required to participate in Bioartography-related activities (ie. submit an image and volunteer during the Ann Arbor Art Fair as either a booth worker, matter/framer, or runner).

Mechanism: Award funding will not be paid via a travel advance. Following the meeting, successful awardees will submit a detailed travel expense report for reimbursement.

Individuals are eligible for only one Bioartography travel award per year.
