Lifetime Achievement Award in Medical Education

The Medical School Dean’s Office is soliciting nominations for the Lifetime Achievement Award in Medical Education. This award is to recognize a faculty member or group of faculty members who have contributed significantly to medical education. The Lifetime Achievement Award in Medical Education is to recognize truly unique faculty members who have made exceptional contributions to medical education and, therefore, may not be awarded each year. This award will honor lifetime achievement in education in all of our education programs, including the M.D., Ph.D. and resident programs. This award carries a $5,000 discretionary academic support prize, which will be given to the faculty member.

This will be a two-stage selection process. Nominations submitted to the selection committee will be reviewed and a list of potential awardees given to the Dean of the Medical School. The Dean will make the final selection.

Nominees must be faculty of the University of Michigan Medical School. Nominees must either have a very broad impact on education at the University of Michigan Medical School or must have made educational innovations that are used not only at University of Michigan, but nationally or internationally, to be considered for this award.

Nominations must include the following:

1. Letter of nomination.

2.Two supporting letters from faculty colleagues.
