June 9: From ideas to innovation symposium
The Michigan Institute for Clinical and Health Research will host an interactive exploration about turning ideas into innovation with University of Michigan faculty and students. Developing new medical technologies to improve health and health services does not happen automatically. It takes an idea and the commitment of an interdisciplinary team to make it happen. Join us at this fascinating symposium to hear how innovative solutions can happen -- and how they make a difference.

The symposium will take place from 7 - 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, at the Ann Arbor District Library, at 343 West Fifth Street, featuring James Geiger, M.D. Geiger is executive director of the Medical Innovation Center at the University of Michigan. His research interests include immunotherapy of cancer and the development of novel medical devices. He is board certified in pediatric surgery, general surgery, and surgical critical care. Geiger will be joined by the 2008/2009 class of innovation fellows. For more information, call 734-998-6797.
