New policy: assistants in the operating room Assistants in the Operating Room - Policy 02-02-005. This policy establishes guidelines for who is eligible to assist attending surgeons in the operating room during a surgical procedure on a living patient. The Credentials Committee, advisory to the Executive Committee on Clinical Affairs, has the authority for approving job descriptions, scope of services and/or privileges for individuals that will assist with surgical procedures. Volunteers needed for UMHS Ice Cream Social
The UMHS Recognition Committee is seeking volunteers to help with the events at our Second Annual UMHS Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
This is a great opportunity for co-workers to get out of their work spaces and volunteer together. Please make sure you have your manager's approval for the volunteer time -- for one hour shifts.
Volunteers are needed for:
Ice cream stations: scooping ice cream, keeping an eye on the toppings station or assisting with the station's line control, either at the University Hospital courtyard or Medical School Circle Drive sites
Ice cream pickup volunteers: helping at the freezer to get orders ready for pickup by hospital units that can't attend the Ice Cream Social due to patient care responsibilities
Festival game volunteers: assisting with running one of the games for employees
If you are interested in volunteering, e-mail Laura Shakarjian at lashak@med.umich.edu by Friday, Aug. 7.
