Physicians Take Lead Role in Managing Ambulatory Care
On July 1, the Faculty Group Practice began managing ambulatory care services on behalf of the Hospitals and Health Centers. This new approach to managing outpatient services is designed to increase physician involvement with our clinics, improve coordination across services, and enhance patient and staff satisfaction. To support this change, a new functional structure has been developed – the ambulatory care unit. All ambulatory care services and clinics – primary and specialty, off-site and on-site – are included in an ambulatory care unit. Each ambulatory care unit is led by a three-person team: a medical director, nurse manager, and administrator. Each ACU leadership team works together to take advantage of opportunities to improve its practice and enhance the patient care experience. List of ACUs, leadership teams, and more.
