The University of Michigan Medical School established the Diversity & Career Development Office (DCDO) in 2002.

The mission of the Diversity & Career Development Office is to engage diverse students, faculty and researchers and to provide education, career development, and community outreach to improve the health of underrepresented and disadvantaged populations.

Our vision is to foster a Medical School environment that:

• promotes and values diversity
• develops the expertise of individuals who will improve the health of historically underserved and underrepresented populations in our community, the state of Michigan and the nation.
