Tuition & Aid

ImageThe price tag of a medical school education can seem overwhelming when just looking at the numbers. Michigan is competitively priced with other leading institutions; however there are a wide variety of options when it comes to covering those costs.

Every applicant should know that:

We work one-on-one with students to see that they receive the financial assistance they need. This may take the form of merit- or need-based scholarships, grants, loans or some combination of these.

In recent years, approximately 40 percent of our students have received scholarships ranging from hundreds of dollars to full tuition. These scholarships are based on academics, leadership ability, demographics, financial need and/or a strong recommendation from the Admissions committee. For those with the most significant need, grant funds are available from the Medical School itself.

Workshops and group counseling sessions sponsored by the Financial Aid Office address the specific financial management needs and loan repayment options available to medical students.
