At the University of Michigan, we evaluate each candidate individually and holistically. Beyond test scores and GPAs, we look for students with a demonstrated record of excellence and passion. Whether as an outstanding varsity athlete, a first-author published researcher or active participant in community service, we believe candidates with these types of experiences offer a good indication that they are likely to go on to have a successful career as a physician.

Our Admissions committee is made up of Medical School faculty and students who care deeply about the students who become part of our school. Committee members work diligently to assemble the best possible incoming class every year. We welcome all information that will assist in the selection of those applicants best suited to become physicians.

In conjunction with the faculty and students who review your application and related materials, the Admissions staff works to ensure every part of your application process runs smoothly. We encourage you to reach out to any one of our Admissions staff members at any time. They will help you with tracking your application, scheduling interviews, submitting financial applications and more.
