Towsley Center Facilities staff can arrange for food and beverages at your event – from coffee to an elaborate banquet. We have ongoing arrangements with several caterers to provide breakfasts, luncheons, dinners and receptions.
All food and beverage served at Towsley Center must be arranged through Towsley Center staff, 734-764-3727.
Any caterer can be used within the Towsley Center. However, prior approval is required and the arrangements must be made through Towsley Center staff.
To provide you with the best possible service and rates for your event, we have negotiated volume pricing with the following caterers:
- Emily’s Catering
- Food Art
- Weber’s Inn
- Grand Traverse Pie Company
All food and beverage served within the Towsley Center is subject to an 18% service charge.

Food and Beverages Service Policies
Orders –Make arrangements no later than two weeks before your event. A guaranteed number of attendees must be provided to the Food & Beverage Coordinator two working days (48 hours) prior, as additional food items cannot be ordered with less notice.
Cancellations made three or more working days (more than 48 hours) prior to the event are not charged and any deposit will be fully refunded. Cancellations made within 48 hours before the event will be subject to charges up to 100%.
- Eating and drinking are not allowed in Dow or Sheldon Auditoriums.
- No alcoholic beverages may be served or consumed in the Towsley Center.
Exceptions must be approved by the Dean of the Medical School.
