Outreach & Support
A central goal of the University of Michigan Movement Disorders Program is to serve as a resource to patients, families and community physicians to provide expanded medical care, improved emotional support and increased understanding of movement disorders in the region. We have several outreach support programs:
- Community educational and support programs for patients with movement disorders
- An on-line support forum though which our patients with DBS systems will be able to communicate with others in similar situations
- Social work support in the form of evaluation and individual and group counseling
