Acute Cornary Syndromes

A follow-up component of Global Registry of
Acute Coronary Events

Acute coronary syndromes (ACS) represent a major cause of morbidity and mortality throughout the world. GRACE (the Global Registry of Acute Coronary Events)was a large, prospective, multinational observational study of patients hospitalized with ACS. The aim of the GRACE registry was to improve the quality of care for patients with ACS by describing differences in, and relationships between, patient characteristics, treatment practices, and in-hospital and post discharge outcomes at hospitals around the world. More than 70,000 patients were recruited into GRACE.

MCORRP maintains an internal registry of ACS patients that contains data on over 4100 consecutive admissions for ACS from 1997 through 2007 including six month and 2 year follow-up data. This registry is now the main source of Acute Coronary Syndromes research done through MCORRP. While new patient enrollment is dormant, research is still active.
