Mail Distribution

Mail Services retrieves, sorts and distributes interdepartmental, US Postal Services (USSP) and Campus mail. Up to 6,000,000 pieces of interdepartmental mail and 5,000,500 pieces of USPS mail are processed each year. This system relies on a four-digit box number to expedite the processing of mail. Outgoing mail is metered buy University Mail Services.

Department Mailbox Number Moves

E-mail the Mailroon Manager, Vickie Thompson with all staff names, moving address, including name, address, room numbers and building name.

Mailbox Numbers

E-mail the Mailroom Manager, Vickie Thompson to obtain a mailbox number.

Test Mail

The Hospital Mail Service conducts test mailings to measure turnaround times for incoming and outgoing mail. The last test was conducted in June 2003.

Results

The results are as follows: the average number of days for an outgoing letter to be picked up, metered (Postage Applied) routed through the United States Post Office, and received by the addressee was 3.4 Days. The average number of days for a letter to be routed through the Post Office, received, sorted at the Mail Room, and delivered to the addressee was 1.0 Days.
