UMMS Standardized Patient Program

We are very excited to have the recent addition of seven new, state-of-the-art clinical skills lab rooms to conduct our activities.
We now have:

• 27 fully functioning patient examination rooms complete with exam tables, sinks, counters or desks, and physical exam equipment.
• Dual cameras, a microphone, and an intercom system in each room.
• Wireless technology for student assessment purposes.
• A large conference/debriefing room.
• A video/monitoring room equipped with 27 monitors and VCR’s for simultaneous viewing and/or videotaping student-patient interactions.
• Shelves to hold and archive over 800 individual student videotaped experiences.
• A remote control wireless touch pad that is centrally located in the video monitoring room.
• 3 touch pads hard-wired to monitors that allow us to view activities and adjust cameras while in each of the 3 lab areas.
