Partnering with community organizations and clinics, the Medical School provides course electives and volunteer opportunities for medical students wishing to provide health care to under served and vulnerable populations.

Students provide care and gain valuable medical experiences by seeing patients at clinics and shelters in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, and urban Detroit.

The educational impact of these experiences is reinforced by didactic and experiential content integrated throughout the four-year curriculum. This element of the curriculum (care of the under served) was partially designed and driven by medical student input.
