First-year students enter into a curriculum that is interdisciplinary and organ-system based covering the normal organ systems.  First-year students begin seeing patients within the first couple of weeks of classes.  Patient interactions through the Family Centered Experiences, longitudinal cases and clinical weeks are woven throughout the pre-clinical coursework as a means to reinforce what is being learned in lectures and how to practically apply that knowledge.
