Did you know?
The Medical School Learning Resource Center offers Faculty Multimedia Development Stations, specifically designed to help faculty create electronic documents and images for use in lecture, publication, and on-line learning.
What’s available?
You may use either the Dell PC or the Macintosh G4 to accomplish a wide range of tasks ranging from making CDs and DVDs to video editing and scanning. Currently, one of the most popular uses of the station is to scan existing slides, negative or hard copy images, and then convert them to a digital format, which can be used in PowerPoint presentations or other software. Please refer to the information below to become acquainted with the hardware and software that is available to you.

Would you like to use these things but don’t know how? Experienced staff of the LRC can:

• Assist you on a project by answering questions related to design, graphics, technical issues, etc.
• Provide you input/advice.
• Demonstrate uses of the equipment and software.

There is NO COST for any of these consultations or services. You can request a consultant when you reserve a station (see request a station below)

The Faculty Multimedia Development Station is located on the 3rd floor of the Taubman Medical Library in room 3908.
Reserving a Station Top
To reserve a station as well as a staff member to assist you, you may call 936-2233 during regular office hours (Monday through Friday 8 AM- 5PM) and speak to a scheduling assistant. You can also email lrc-reservations@umich.edu. Special hours may be arranged upon request.

Free Workshops
The Learning Resource Center, in collaboration with the Taubman Medical Library, the Faculty Exploratory and the Media Union, regularly conduct free workshops for Medical School students, faculty and staff. For more information, please contact John Westfall (jbwest@umich.edu / 763-6770).

Software Design
Professional Software design and programming staff are available to assist faculty in developing computer technology for medical education. Faculty with ideas about how to incorporate this technology into their teaching can meet with the LRC staff to discuss their options.
