Educational Success Story
Apple and the University of Michigan have enjoyed a strategic relationship throughout these years and it has resulted in collaborations with many departments, including the Division of Anatomical Sciences.
Our gross anatomy course and web materials have recently been designated as an Apple Educational Success Story.
A quote from the web article: "Ann Arbor, MI * Seeing is believing. But watching a video transforms belief into comprehension. Such is the theory behind a Mac-based program at the University of Michigan (UMich) Medical School. To supplement the traditional lecture-exam teaching model, medical students now watch videos of anatomical dissections via the Web, then complete their own procedures. Edited on iMac computers with iMovie and QuickTime, the videos have helped the most recent class of UMich students record the highest average grades achieved in the last ten years."
Apple has also created a higher education brochure featuring the gross anatomy course and Medical School. This brochure has been distributed in The Chronicle of Higher Education, and may be obtained from your Apple representative.
For the videos throughout this web site, it is best to use Quicktime, rather than Microsoft Media Player.
