7. Dissect the bronchi, defining the lobar branches. Identify the lymph nodes involved in lymphatic drainage of the lungs.

Identify the mainstem bronchus within the hilum of the lung and the superior segment of the lower lobe. Expose the superior segmental bronchus using blunt dissection. Within this area, note the bronchopulmonary nodes within the hilum of the lung and the pulmonary nodes within the lung itself. Follow the mainstem bronchus toward the superior segmental bronchus projecting posteriorly from it. Notice also the close relationship of the pulmonary artery branches to the bronchi.
