Grading Policy:
This course is graded on a pass-fail basis for medical students and letter grade for graduate students. For medical students, 75 or above earns a passing grade. For graduate students, the standard ten-point scale is used: 100-90 = A, 89-80 = B, 79-70 = C, 69-60 = D, 59- = F.
The following elements make up the final grade: all points on quizzes, all points on the midterm, and all points on the final exams are added together and converted to a percent score. Peer presentations are evaluated at 2 percentage points and are averaged into the grade. Completion of all modules earns 2 more percentage points, and completion of the dissection notes of the medical histories earns 1 percentage point, and these are averaged into the final grade.Material to be covered on the written quizzes:
Two questions will be taken from each dissection, radiology lecture, clinical lecture, or module covered during the previous week. Questions may cover didactic material from the course manual, radiology or clinical lecture, or module, or identification of structures on illustrations used in the previous week. Questions will be written in National Board format and generally ask for interpretation or application of the anatomy rather than just regurgitation of facts.Material to be covered on the practical quizzes:
Three questions will be taken from each dissection covered during the previous week. These questions will usually be identification of structures on the cadaver, on the skeleton, or on radiographs. Additionally, two written questions will cover didactic material from the previous week's module.Material to be covered on the midterm and final exams:
The midterm and final exams have both written and practical exam components. The written exams will be approximately 50 multiple choice questions, equally covering all sessions, modules, and relevant MDC's. The practical exams will be approximately 50 questions of identification of structures on the cadaver, on the skeleton, or on radiographs.
