(03/05/07) In the CNS sequence, we will study the Cranial Nerves, Autonomics of the Head and Neck, Cranial Cavity, Meninges, and Brain, Parotid Gland and Face, Infratemporal Fossa and Oral Cavity, Eye, and Ear and Nasal Cavity. You may want to check out the collection of surgical videos that feature procedures in the head and neck.
(02/09/08) In the Immunology sequence, we will study the Anterior Triangle of the Neck, the Posterior Triangle of the Neck, and the Carotid Sheath, Pharynx & Larynx. You may want to check out the collection of surgical videos that feature procedures in the head and neck.
(01/25/08) In the Endocrine/Reproduction sequence, we will study the Autonomics of the Pelvis, the Pelvic Viscera, the Pelvic Neurovasculature, and the Perineum. You may want to check out the collection of surgical videos that feature procedures in the pelvis.
(01/07/08) In the Gastrointestinal sequence, we will study the Development of the GI tract, the Peritoneal Cavity & Intestines, the Stomach & Spleen, the Duodenum, Pancreas, Liver, & Gallbladder, the Kidneys & Retroperitoneum, and the Autonomics of the Abdomen. You may want to check out the collection of surgical videos that feature procedures in the abdomen.
(12/09/07) In the Renal sequence, we will study the Abdominal Wall and Inguinal Region in lab, and the Learning Module entitled "Abdominal Viscera Basics".
(10/29/07) In the Cardiovascular/Respiratory sequence, we will study the Thoracic Wall, Pleura, and Pericardium, Heart, Superior Mediastinum and Lungs, Posterior Mediastinum in lab, and Learning Modules entitled "Introduction to Autonomics - Sympathetics", "Introduction to Autonomics - Parasympathetics", and "Autonomics of the Thorax".
There is an additional learning module for the autonomic nervous system, developed by that dynamic duo Brevis and Butthead, entitled "Autonomic NS". It should help you through this difficult area.
There are two Anatomy Jeopardy games to play that are both fun and educational: Cardiovascular/Respiratory Jeopardy and Autonomic Jeopardy. These are the perfect way to spend your Saturday nights.
(10/01/07) In the Musculoskeletal sequence, we will study the Superficial Limbs and Posterior Shoulder, Axilla and Arm, Forearm, Hand, Anterior and Medial Thigh, Hip and Posterior Thigh and Leg, Leg and Foot, and Joints of the Upper and Lower Limbs in lab, and Learning Modules entitled "Movements of the Upper Limb", "Movements of the Lower Limb", and "Introduction to Joints".
(09/04/07) In the Cells and Tissues sequence, we will study the Superficial Back, Deep Back and Spinal Cord, and Pectoral Region and Breast in lab, and Learning Modules entitled "Anatomical Orientation", "Introduction to the Nervous System", and "Spinal Cord and Spinal Nerve".
(07/09/07) Welcome Class of 2011. Visit the virtual tour of the Anatomy facilities to become familiar with our area. Review the Introduction to Gross Anatomy to learn how we approach gross anatomy instruction here at the University of Michigan Medical School.
We will have an Introduction to Gross Anatomy on Monday, August 27, at 3pm. Here, we will discuss the emotions and ethics involved in anatomical donation and human dissection, and you will be introduced to your lab partners, with whom you will be working for the succeeding eight months.
Before our first lab session on September 4, please review the web materials for Superficial Back. Also, review the Learning Modules entitled "Anatomical Orientation" and "Introduction to the Nervous System".
