In today's complex health care environment there is a compelling need to develop the leadership skills of supervisors and managers so they can effectively carry out their responsibilities and contribute to the continuing success of the Health System. The Health System is committed to providing leadership development training, growth opportunities and resources to all managers and supervisors who wish to enhance their leadership abilities. Our goal is to develop leaders who can manage complexity, mobilize talent to achieve goals and earn the confidence and trust of those they lead.
The Foundations for Successful Leadership Program offers a comprehensive introduction to the essential leadership and management competencies that will help Health System supervisors and managers lead their units to excellence in employee satisfaction, service quality, customer satisfaction and financial performance. The program offers training in leadership thinking, management skills training, administrative methods and best practices. It is a 10-session cohort program, designed for individuals who are relatively new to the role of supervisor/manager or new to these roles within the Health System. The program includes applied learning and skill development in the following areas:

- using the strength of diversity
- managing performance and conflict
- hiring the best and setting expectations
- creating high performance teams
- administering compensation and payroll
- understanding legal and regulatory responsibilities
- promoting excellent customer service
- managing finances
