When it comes to the health and well-being of your family, it may seem difficult to find "harmony" in a country so far from home. That is why everything we do at the Japanese Family Health Program is intended to help you feel comfortable, welcome and well cared for. We invite you to call on us for all of your health care needs.
Scheduling/Canceling an Appointment
To make an appointment, simply call the Japanese Family Health Program Office nearest you. (In Ann Arbor, call 734-647-6523.) Please be prepared to provide your University of Michigan patient registration number. If you do not yet have a patient registration number, we will assign one for you over the telephone.
If you must cancel or reschedule an appointment, please do so at least 24 hours in advance so that we can arrange to see other patients during that time.
After-Hours or Urgent Care
Whenever possible, please see us during our regular office hours. If an urgent medical problem arises when our office is closed, call our office number. Our answering service will have the department on-call doctor return your call promptly. If you are treated at an urgent care facility, we encourage you to see us for follow-up care during our regular office hours.

What to do in a Medical Emergency
In the event of a medical emergency, dial 911 or go to the emergency room nearest you. If possible, we encourage you to choose the University of Michigan Health System Emergency Room. There, you may request an interpreter and your medical records will be accessible by your Japanese Family Health Program doctors.
