Resident Research: Funding Sources
In addition to grant funds that your research mentor may be able to identify from government sources, subspecialty societies or interest groups, the following provide funds specifically designated for residents in training.
AMA Foundation Grants (http://www.ama-assn.org/ama/pub/about-ama/ama-foundation/our-programs/medical-education/seed-grant-research.page, 07-09-2013)
These annual seed grants of $2,500 support residents or fellows conducting basic science, applied, or clinical research projects. AMA Foundation grants are provided for targeted clinical categories, as listed on the AMA website.
Grants Net (http://grantsnet.org/, 01-10-2009)
This site categorizes grants based on expected training level, so you can search for grants that are targeted for junior scientists, students or residents.
