Core A: Clinical Core

Administrative Core

Administrative Core: Theodore Standiford, PI; Mary Malec, Program Coordinator

Theodore J. Standiford, M.D., serves as the Program Director and the PI of the Administrative Core. This Core oversees all administrative aspects of the University of Michigan ALI SCCOR. Functions of the Core include coordinating meetings and communication between all of the projects and the Clinical Cores at the University of Michigan and our consortium site at Emory University . In addition, the Administrative Core handles all financial aspects of the program and interacts with both internal and external regulatory agencies to ensure adequate communication, documentation and compliance. Finally, the Core is instrumental in arranging SCCOR investigator travel, visiting lectureships, and semi-annual SCCOR meetings in conjunction with other ALI SCCOR programs.

PROJECT ABSTRACTS

The objectives and specific aims of the Administrative Core (Core B) are to provide overall admininstrative direction for all aspects of the SCCOR proposal. Specifically, this core will perform the following tasks:

  1. Coordinate the initial directions of each project and core of the proposal.
  2. Manage all financial aspects of the grant.
  3. Provide direction to ensure that periodic review of the grant progress and direction occurs.
  4. Coordinate and facilitate the input of members of the Internal and External Advisory Committees and DSMB for the project.
  5. Coordinate meetings and communication between the University of Michigan , Emory University , and other SCCOR Centers to foster cooperation of investigations.
  6. Work with internal and external institutions and agencies ( University of Michigan , University of Tennessee , and the NIH) to ensure appropriate administrative documentation, communication and accountability.
  7. Provide support to the investigators, including secretarial, personnel management, and document generation.
  8. Provide support to obtain and maintain necessary equipment, as well as laboratory facilities.
  9. Facilitate inter-project communication and collaboration.
  10. Facilitate project and clinical core interaction.
  11. Coordinate travel arrangements for SCCOR investigators.
