Clinical Training Facilities

• The total University of Michigan Health System is comprised of the U-M Medical School and its Faculty Group Practice, University Hospital, C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Women’s Hospital, approximately 30 health centers, 120 outpatient clinics, M-CARE HMO, and the Michigan Health Corp.

• The Veterans Administration Hospital is a 276-bed hospital that is totally integrated with University Hospital .

• The Taubman Center, the ambulatory care center attached to University Hospital, is the site of the Nephrology Division's faculty offices and library.

• The dialysis programs include an inpatient acute dialysis unit and interventional nephrology unit located within the University Hospital and two outpatient hemodialysis units located nearby, off-campus, as well as a chronic peritoneal dialysis unit.

• Transplant programs include active kidney (>200/year), liver, pancreas, heart and lung transplantation.

• Research laboratories consist of >8,000 square feet of space in the Medical Science Research Building II which is adjacent to the Howard Hughes Molecular Genetics Laboratories.
