Interventional Nephrology Unit (INU)

The Interventional Nephrology Unit (INU) provides state-of-the-art dialysis access support for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis patients. The INU procedure suite is conveniently located adjacent to the Acute Dialysis Unit on the 7th floor of the University Hospital and is equipped with fluoroscopy and ultrasound to optimize patient safety. The INU is open Monday through Friday, 8AM to 4PM, and offers inpatient and outpatient services for the insertion and management of:
Our Dialysis Vascular Access Coordinators can be reached at 734-936-5646 or toll free at 877-MED-INU4 (877-633-4684) for help with scheduling/referrals to the INU. The INU is staffed by a dedicated team of nurses, nephrology physicians and physician assistants with specialized training in dialysis access procedures. Nephrology Fellowship training, research programs and quality assurance initiatives for dialysis access are also integrated into the interventional nephrology program.
