Infections in Transplant Patients
Dr. Smith is a member of the Transplant Infectious
Disease Service that provides inpatient and outpatient
consultation for patients who have received either
solid organ or bone marrow transplants. The Transplant
Infectious Disease Service also works closely with
the various transplant groups preparing prophylactic
and treatment guidelines. Research interests include
clinical research in opportunistic infections after
solid organ transplantation.
Antifungal Pharmacology
Dr. Smith has participated in research in antifungal
mechanisms of resistance, pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics
and therapeutic drug monitoring.
