Bioethics Program -- (visit main website)

Vision - Established by the Medical School in 2000 and directed by Susan Dorr Goold, the Bioethics Program aims to become a national leader in empirical and theoretical inquiry in bioethics.

Areas of focus build on the University's strengths and include:

  • Empirical research in bioethics
  • Ethics and healthcare decision making
  • Ethics of health policy and management
  • Ethics education - innovation and evaluation
  • Ethics of advances in medical science

Research - A wide array of scholarly inquiry in bioethics takes place at the University of Michigan. Most research combines analytical, conceptual analysis with empirical methods. Contact us if you would like further information on a particular area of research
