The Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology & Diabetes (MEND) in conjunction with the Michigan Comprehensive Diabetes Center and the Michigan Diabetes Research and Training Center and other Medical Center units, offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services and educational programs in the general area of endocrine and metabolic disorders. These programs cover all of the traditional areas of endocrinology and metabolism, including:
diabetes mellitus and diabetes complications
abnormalities in body weight
osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease
abnormalities in calcium regulation and the reproductive axis
diseases of the thyroid, pituitary and adrenal glands
Specialized Programs
In addition, MEND has several multidisciplinary clinics that address specific, endocrine-related diseases, such as:
