Purpose and Objectives

Develop and institute a program for training in clinical research of promising young physicians and dentists committed to careers in academic health sciences.

The program objectives are described in the form of seven specific aims:

  1. Identify lead mentors in key areas of clinical research
  2. Select qualified scholars to begin the Mentored Clinical Research Program
  3. Develop a tailored didactic curriculum for each scholar
  4. Insure successful mentoring of the scholar
  5. Help scholars develop well-designed and executed research projects
  6. Develop knowledge and skills in regulatory aspects of clinical research
  7. Develop and implement an ongoing program evaluation and assessment system of scholars' success
