Weekly Clinical Conferences
The Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology & Diabetes holds a weekly Clinical Conference covering topics of interest in endocrinology. It is held Fridays from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Brehm Tower, 1000 Wall Street (next to Kelogg Eye Center), 5th floor, Cure Room (room 5050), unless otherwise noted in the schedule. On the third Friday of the month, the Clinical Conference is combined with the Research Conference (see below) and runs from 2:00 to 3:15 pm. Conferences are not held in July or August.
The Clinical Conference offers 1.0 hour of CME credit through the University of Michigan Medical School.
Speakers include faculty from the Division, fellowship trainees, and guest speakers. Clinical cases are often used as a springboard for discussions of endocrine disorders, including patient care issues and reviews of the current research. Once a month, the conference is run by the Metabolism, Endocrinology & Diabetes Consult team and is devoted to the reviewing interesting patients seen on the Consult Service.
Weekly Research Conferences
The Metabolism, Endocrinology & Diabetes Division's Research Conferences are held during the academic year on Fridays from 3:00 - 4:00 pm at the Brehm Tower, 1000 Wall Street (next to Kelogg Eye Center), 5th floor, Cure Room (room 5050), unless otherwise noted in the schedule. On the third Friday of the month, the Clinical Conference is combined with the Research Conference (see above) and runs from 2:00 to 3:15 pm. Conferences are not held June through August.
A wide range of topics in molecular and cellular research, organ physiology, and clinical research are covered each year. Speakers include the faculty and staff of the Metabolism, Endocrinology & Diabetes Division, University of Michigan researchers performing endocrinology-related work, and invited outside speakers.
