Type A

Can occur in most people who are given a sufficient dose and duration of treatment.

Includes:

•  Overdose

•  Side effects

•  Indirect effects

•  Drug interactions.

 

Type B

Occurs in small subset of the general population.

Includes:

•  Intolerance

•  Idiosyncrasy

•  Immunologic drug reactions.
