Geriatric and Palliative Medicine

Hematology and Oncology
The largest subspecialty administrative unit in the Department of Internal Medicine. Care for patients with benign and malignant disorders of the blood and lymphatic organs as well as for patients with most types of solid tumor malignancies.
Treatment of virtually all types of infectious diseases as well as research on the pathogenesis and treatment of infections, antimicrobial pharmacokinetics, hospital epidemiology, diagnostic microbiology, or the molecular biology of viral and bacterial infections.
Metabolism, Endocrinology & Diabetes (MEND)
Comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services and educational programs in the general area of endocrine and metabolic disorders, including diabetes and its complications, obesity, osteoporosis, endocrine tumors and endocrine hypertension as well as the traditional endocrine specialties in thyroidology, adrenal disorders, male and female reproductive problems, growth hormone disorders, hirsuitism and neuroendocrinology.
Molecular Medicine & Genetics
Committed to providing quality healthcare, producing research to advance the field of genetics and teaching the next generation of clinicians and researchers; specialize in diagnosing genetic conditions, providing care, assessing risks and implications for family members, determining testing options, identifying supportive resources and providing genetic counseling.
Dedicated to serving people with kidney disease, including prevention and treatment of acute and chronic kidney disease, management of progressive kidney diseases, pre-preparation and treatment of end stage kidney disease, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and kidney transplantation, renal stone prevention, acid base, fluid and electrolyte disorders ; internationally recognized for the excellence of its clinical care, and its rich and diverse education and research programs.
Pulmonary and Critical Care
Widely recognized for the excellence of its clinical care and for its educational and research programs pertaining to acute or chronic respiratory disease, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, lung cancer evaluation, pulmonary fibrosis, sarcoidosis and other chronic diffuse interstitial lung diseases, pulmonary embolic disease, sleep apnea, occupational lung diseases, pleural diseases, tuberculosis and other chronic pulmonary infections.
