I normally work at my desk during lunch, which gives me the flexibility to better balance my work and family life.
What do you want to be doing in five years (be honest)?
Each year, I’ve had the privilege of learning new skills and/or taking on new responsibilities in my job. I serve on multi-disciplinary teams and groups such as Voices of the Staff, which enhance my work life. In five years, I hope to continue my current work while doing more regular internal consultation with customers in support of quality improvement. I plan to continue my environmental sustainability efforts at the University of Michigan as a Voices alumni member once I complete my term at the end of this year.

I would like to be a part of the Survival Flight team for a day.

Bonnie G. Brown
Associate Director, Facilities Management & Planning
U-M Medical School
Describe your job at UMHS in a nutshell.
Bonnie G. BrownHard to describe what I do in a nutshell. Here are a few of my assignments:
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
It’s always rewarding and makes me feel good when we help a customer work through a problem.
The real fun part of my job is working on special events, such as building groundbreakings and social events.
What do you normally do during your down time and time off?
I am generally eating at my desk while working.
What do you want to be doing in five years?
I really love this job and working with U-M Health System people. So I’d love to still be working here in five years, but I also love to travel and want to do more of it. If I could figure out how to keep working here and travel more, that would be ideal.
If you could try any other job at the Health System for a day, what job would it be?
I think that it would be very interesting to be in Doug Strong’s shoes for a day. I like him and admire the job he has to do, but I really have no clue what that job entails.
"I have had the pleasure to meet and somewhat get to know Melina. She is a very nice person and very knowlegeable. I think this article is very good and shows her passion for her job." Wendy Lamentola, Material Services
"Jeff is a great guy, always positive, and always trying to find an appropriate solution to a difficult problem rather than saying no. Although I have not worked with him very much, whenever I did, he proved to be consistently constructive and helpful." Rashid Bashshur, Telemedicine Resource Center
