Assessments are available January through April 2009. Active U, the annual U-M fitness challenge, runs Feb. 3 through April 14. MHealthy’s Stress Free Zone has a new location—in the waiting room at Employee Health Service. EHS is on the third floor of Med Inn in suite C380. Take advantage of the massage chair, virtual vacation DVDs, therapy lamps and other stress management tools, available Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–noon and 1–4:30 p.m. For more, visit www.mhealthy.umich.edu.

It’s not too early to plan for your summer child care needs. Consider using University of Michigan summer camps: KidSport or the Child Care Center’s Summer and Theater Arts camps. KidSport offers children the opportunity to learn teamwork through sports and social skills. The CCC Summer Camp offers discovery activities, reading, crafts, games, field trips and swimming. Children who attend Theater Arts Camp learn about acting, memorizing scripts, singing, dancing and designing sets for their theater production. For camp schedules, fees and registration, visit www.umich.edu/~umove/kidsport.html and www.hr.umich.edu/childcare/healthsystem/summercamp.

If you took the 2008 Employee Engagement Survey and want to know the results, visit www.med.umich.edu/i/quality/reports. All results were Editor distributed in May, followed by comment reports for all areas in June. Since distribution, Quality Improvement has updated resources online for interpreting and using data at www.med.umich.edu/i/quality/tools/interpretation.html.

Survival FlightFor the first time, QI has prepared special reports that touch on specific topics such as security, safety, environmental cleanliness, facilities, parking and other issues such as bullying in the workplace. You can even compare your unit’s results with last year’s results.

Stay in tune with workplace injury prevention news by listening to Take 5 for Safety podcasts, hosted by Bruce Cadwallender, director of Safety Management Services.
