Nursing with a Difference
Comforting, professional, supportive, knowledgeable, humble, helpful, kind. This is how patients and families have described nursing care they or someone they love received at University, Mott and Women's hospitals, through Michigan Visiting Nurses and while in the care of Survival Flight staff.
In honor of National Nurses Week this May, enjoy these accolades shared by patients and families, and take a moment to thank our nurses for their cornerstone contributions to the Michigan Difference.

"Thank you for being real life angels who flew to Midland and transported our granddaughter to Mott Children’s Hospital. Your
skill, knowledge, efficiency and professionalism is something we will be eternally grateful for." |
| "Our nurse was very caring, comforting and funny. She made me laugh when I wanted to cry .…" |
|
| "The grandmother of one of our little respiratory syncytial virus babies—and a member of the nursing staff at one of the country’s top children’s hospitals—said that in all her years of nursing, she had never seen a more wonderful, cohesive staff and that 5 West should be considered a Magnet caliber unit. She described the positive attitudes, the way everyone worked together and supported each other, the obvious love UMHS nurses have for their patients and their commitment to the best care for them. She observed people helping each other out regularly and routinely, and speaking to everyone with respect and compassion even when situations were tense. She felt very comfortable leaving to go home because of the obvious expertise of the nurses caring for her grandchild. Now that is the Michigan Difference." |
