Research Description

Professional antigen presenting cells are capable of presenting exogenously acquired antigens on MHC I molecules. This process of cross presentation (which is crucial for viral and tumor immunity) is thought to be greatly enhanced when antigens are in complex with various heat shock proteins, including calreticulin. My research focuses on the intracellular pathway calreticulin utilizes to enhance the cross presentation of soluble antigens.
