Research Description

CD4 T cells play a key role during an adaptive immune response. Recently, we have shown that CD4 T cells can be generated by MHC class II expressed on thymocytes as well as thymic epithelial cells. Surprisingly, CD4 T cells selected by thymocytes exhibit a unique effector function similar to NKT cells. I am currently studying the immune response mediated by these CD4 T cells.
