The Immunology seminar series, held during the Fall and Winter terms, includes formal presentations by speakers from outside the University of Michigan. Speakers for the 2008-2009
year included: Students are given
the opportunity to meet with the speakers at a luncheon immediately following
the seminar. 2009 - 2010 speakers will include: Matthias Wabl, Ph.D., University of California, San Francisco, 9/16/09 in SLH Karsten Sauer, Ph.D., Scripps Research Institute, 11/4/09 in SLH Mary L. (Nora) Disis, M.D., University of Washington, 2/10/10 Chuxia Deng, Ph.D., NIDDK - NIH, 3/17/10 E. John Wherry, Ph.D., Wistar Institute, 4/7/10 Douglas Green, Ph.D., St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 4/21/10 The Immunology Program also sponsors an annual retreat, which is an opportunity for the University's immunology community to get together in an off-campus location and for students and research fellows to present their research. Our 9th Annual Immunology Retreat keynote speaker is John J. O'Shea, M.D., Scientific Director, NIAMS Intramural Research Program; Chief Lymphocyte Cell Biology; Section Chief, Molecular Immunology and Inflammation Branch, at the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases - NIH. . |
