Research Description:

I am broadly interested in the impact of developmental genes on the outcome of inflammatory processes.  To this end I have started two projects that involve some aspect of development and it's relationship to immunology.  One of these projects involves studying the impact of Notch signaling on T cells both in vitro  and in vivo. Our lab has developed specific polyclonal antibodies to both delta4 and jagged1 to aid us in these studies.  In addition I am also interested in the impact of inflammation on adult stem cells.  We are currently studying both hematopoietic and mesenchymal stem cell responses to inflammation.  The results of these studies could provide us with clues as to the long term effects that inflammation can have on the host.
