Catecholamines (i.e. norepinephrine, epinephrine) can regulate inflammation both positively and negatively. Previous studies in our lab have shown that catecholamines promote inflammation in animal models of acute lung injury. We are interested in how phagocyte-derived catecholamines can regulate lung inflammation, and the mechanism by which this regulation is achieved.
