OHQ and HHS Laund New Patient Safety Campaign
The U.S. Office of Healthcare Quality (OHQ) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Partnership for Patients have released a new consumer awareness campaign on healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). The acronym for the campaign is “WAVE”:
“W”– Wash Hands
“A” – Ask Questions
“V” – Vaccinate
“E” – Ensure Safety
WAVE campaign materials are designed so that family members and caregivers can educate themselves about HAIs and the steps to take in protecting their loved ones.
