About Us

HomeMed home infusion services specializes in providing the highest quality pharmaceutical and related services in the home. Our pharmacists and supportive staff have experience in home IV infusion therapies with both adult and pediatric patients. We utilize state-of-the art equipment in preparation and delivery of IV infusion therapy.

As part of the University of Michigan Health System Home Care Services, HomeMed collaborates with a team of specialized departments with the common goal of serving the patients of the UMHS in their homes or during the transition to home care from the hospital.

HomeMed is able to bill most insurances, Medicare, and Medicaid directly. Professionals handle all the paperwork. We bill third parties directly and accept assignment for most payers.

Care Coordination

HomeMed services provide professional coordination of transition to home care along with IV therapy as prescribed by your physician. Our home infusion team will collaborate with your physician to determine the most appropriate home infusion device, or pump, and facilitate IV access if necessary. The home infusion team assists with coordination of clinical services, patient compliance, and progress toward the patient's outcome goals. The home infusion team, in conjunction with available home technology, makes independence and recovery at home a realistic goal.

Clinical Monitoring

HomeMed pharmacists provide clinical monitoring for IV antibiotics such as aminoglycosides (e.g.,amikacin, gentamicin, and tobramycin) and vancomycin. Our pharmacists, nurses, and dieticians also provide clinical nutritional support for patients on IV Total Parenteral Nutrition or enteral tube feedings. Our clinical staff works with you, your physician and visiting nurse to coordinate blood draws and evaluate the results to meet your specific needs.

Therapeutic infusion products are dispensed in compliance with your physician’s orders. HomeMed consistently provides infusion products of the highest quality due to our state-of-the-art technology and continuing staff education programs.

Delivery dates and times are established by location to best meet your needs and are coordinated with other care providers.

Each delivered order will include a packing list that describes the product(s) and quantities ordered and delivered. Please see the Patient Handbook (PDF) for more Information
