Wnt  Signaling Pathway

The Wnt signaling pathway has been implicated in the growth of many organ systems and specifically in the biology of adult stem cells residing in each organ. The transcription factor, b-catenin, is activated by Wnt signaling and stabilization of b-catenin has been reported in a number of endocrine tumors, including tumors in the adrenal cortex. Our laboratory studies the role of Wnt signaling in adrenocortical stem cell biology and how dysregulated Wnt signaling contributes to adrenocortical carcinoma in mice and human patients
