SNOWFLAKE MAKING WORKSHOP
Dr. Thomas L. Clark
In this annual workshop, snowflake master Dr. Thomas L. Clark, a.k.a. Doctor Snowflake, shares his paper cutting techniques, and he helps participants try their hands at some seasonal designs. There is also opportunity for participants to experiment with their own creations. An exhibition of his work, Snowflake Royal: Face Cards Revealed, is on display in the gallery. DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. TRIBUTE CONCERT
Robert & Bernice Jones
Rev. Robert Jones is a nationally recognized musician and educator with more than 20 years of experience as a performer and storyteller. A talented multi-instrumentalist, Jones has opened for Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal and Leon Russell, to name a few. He and his wife, Bernice, a powerful and gifted singer, now perform as a duo. They showcase the spiritual, gospel, and blues roots that form the basis of American popular music. The Jones’ will present the program, Songs of Praise and Protest, celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and highlighting the music indicative of the human struggle from slavery to the civil rights movement.

EMU Musicians from Mu Phi Epsilon Fraternity
Mu Phi Epsilon is an international, professional music fraternity dedicated to the recognition of scholarship, musicianship and friendship. The Epsilon Lambda collegiate chapter at Eastern Michigan University serves the local community and beyond through music and a variety of other service opportunities such as Adopt-A-Family and Relay for Life. Members of the Epsilon Lambda chapter will be performing solo and chamber repertoire.

NEW C.S. MOTT HOSPITAL CELEBRATION CONCERT
U-M Life Sciences Orchestra
In celebration of the opening of the new C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, the Life Sciences Orchestra presents a family friendly program of dance inspired music from across three centuries featuring soloist Jourdan Urbach, violin virtuoso and philanthropist. The LSO, a Gifts of Art program, was founded in the fall of 2000 by a small group of musicians and artists at the U-M Medical School and Health System to provide a performance outlet for the many faculty, staff, students, and volunteers in life science disciplines at the university who had previous musical training but few opportunities to play. The orchestra performs two free concerts a year in Hill Auditorium.

Detroit Flyhouse Circus School
Come see dazzling circus style performers who specialize in juggling, feats of mind-bending strength and acrobalance as well as a variety of circus sideshow acts. Detroit Flyhouse is a circus school for children and adults that specializes in a number of performance arts, including trapeze and aerial yoga. Micha Adams, owner and instructor, says this about the Detroit Flyhouse, "I like to voluntarily brush up against my perceived limitations, be they physical or emotional." "Flyhouse is a hothouse for growth." Her advice to struggling entrepreneurs, "Be willing to take calculated risks. Dreams are worth it."

Danireé Duo
Daniel Goree, from the Pacific Northwest, and Donald “Bopper” Clark, a Michigan local, get together to take listeners on a journey through American music. Both of these musicians, Goree on lead guitar and Clark on bass, have been around the world, bringing sounds and perspectives to their interpretation of American rock-n-roll, rhythm & blues, Motown and country. Their music ranges from country standards of Waylon Jennings and Hank Williams to the pop hits of Michael Jackson. The only thing you can expect is surprise at what they might pull out next.

Edie Herrold with Red Shoes
Enjoy the uplifting, exciting and inspiring sounds of Edie Herrold with Red Shoes as they explore the world of jazz. You’ll hear romantic jazz standards, originals and some Latin grooves. Herrold studied at the University of Miami, Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, and for the last several years at the acclaimed Jazz Camp WEST immersion program in northern California. Master guitarist Brian Delaney and exceptional percussionist Dennis Sheridan join Edie Herrold on bass for a journey of jazz inspiration.

Michael Casher & Carrie Wilson
Michael Casher performs classical guitar in the Ann Arbor area. He has studied with Matthew Ardizzone and Robert Guthrie, and attended master classes with Manual Lopez-Ramos. Dr. Casher is the director of the UMHS Psychiatry Adult Inpatient Program at UMHS. Soprano Carrie Wilson is a professional cantor who performs regionally in recital and musical theater performances and studies with celebrated tenor, George Shirley, Professor Emeritus of Voice at U-M.
