Daniree DuoMOTOWN & ROCK CLASSICS
Danireé Duo
Daniel Goree, from the Pacific Northwest, and Donald “Bopper” Clark, a Michigan local, get together to take listeners on a journey through American music. Both of these musicians, Goree on lead guitar and Clark on bass, have been around the world, bringing sounds and perspectives to their interpretation of American rock-n-roll, rhythm & blues, Motown and country. Their music ranges from country standards of Waylon Jennings and Hank Williams to the pop hits of Michael Jackson. The only thing you can expect is surprise at what they might pull out next.

Edie HerroldROMANTIC JAZZ STANDARDS
Edie Herrold with Red Shoes
Enjoy the uplifting, exciting and inspiring sounds of Edie Herrold with Red Shoes as they explore the world of jazz. You’ll hear romantic jazz standards, originals and some Latin grooves. Herrold studied at the University of Miami, Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, and for the last several years at the acclaimed Jazz Camp WEST immersion program in northern California. Master guitarist Brian Delaney and exceptional percussionist Dennis Sheridan join Edie Herrold on bass for a journey of jazz inspiration.

Tiana Marquez
Accomplished singer, writer, and storyteller Tiana Marquez will perform a variety of love songs with a piano accompanist. Drawing from both classical and popular music, you will hear songs from West Side Story and Gershwin, among others.

Michael Casher & Carrie WilsonGUITAR & VOICE
Michael Casher & Carrie Wilson
Michael Casher performs classical guitar in the Ann Arbor area. He has studied with Matthew Ardizzone and Robert Guthrie, and attended master classes with Manual Lopez-Ramos. Dr. Casher is the director of the UMHS Psychiatry Adult Inpatient Program at UMHS. Soprano Carrie Wilson is a professional cantor who performs regionally in recital and musical theater performances and studies with celebrated tenor, George Shirley, Professor Emeritus of Voice at U-M.

Souls AlikeFOLK/ROCK TRIO
Souls Alike
Megan Chartier (cello), Bob Huffman (guitar and vocals) and Tracy Huffman (vocals) form a dynamic folk-rock trio. Tracy Huffman began her vocal career at the young age of 11 when she was chosen to participate in an all-star choir to backup Karen Carpenter and Barry Manilow. As an adult, Tracy has been a vocalist in various R&B/pop bands throughout the Midwest since the mid-eighties. Bob Huffman studied music in Hollywood, California and Boston, Massachusetts and is currently a music therapist at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. Megan Chartier has been playing cello for eleven years and is a performance major at Eastern Michigan University. She serves as second chair in EMU's Symphony Orchestra.

Bob Sweet Trio
This is piano jazz at its finest. Kurt Krahnke (bass), Bob Sweet (drums) and Tad Weed (piano) have been part of the southeastern Michigan jazz scene for decades. Anything might happen when they get together, but the performance is always fueled by creative group interplay. Whether they're playing jazz standards or original pieces, you can count on a fresh, dynamic sound, distinctively flavored with the soul of the Detroit jazz tradition.

Two Tenors on the EdgeSONGS FROM BROADWAY
Two Tenors on the Edge
Tenors Jay Kaplan and Jeffrey Willets join forces with pianist/accompanist Elisabeth Wagner to take listeners into Broadway song repertoire revolving around monsters, madmen and the "slightly off." Music from Broadway shows, such as Phantom, Victor Victoria, She Loves Me, Grey Gardens, Drood and many others will be performed by the trio. Jeffrey Willets is a professional tenor and Ann Arbor music educator, Jay Kaplan is a tenor and LGBT Lawyer for the Michigan American Civil Liberties Union, and Elisabeth Wagner is a pianist and graduate student at Wayne State University.

U-M Doctoral Strings StudentsVIOLIN MUSIC
U-M Doctoral Strings Students
For 125 years, the University of Michigan School of Music has provided the finest education and experience in the performing arts. Now renamed the School of Music, Theatre and Dance, it continues to attract some of the nation’s top students. This concert features both solo and chamber violin music by students in the Ph.D. program. Emily Barkakati, Sara Jones-Hayes, Jung-Min Han, Su-Fan Yiu will play pieces composed by Dvorak and Bacewicz.

Rony BarrakINTERNATIONAL DRUMMING & DANCE
Rony Barrak & the Fontomfrom Drum & Dance Ensemble
Rony Barrak is a Lebanese percussionist best known for his mastery of the darbuka, a goblet-shaped hand drum. He is also a composer and producer who has a leading presence in collaborations in jazz, funk, percussion and classical, as well as Arabic and Latin musical styles. Fontomfrom Drum & Dance EnsembleThe Fontomfrom Drum & Dance Ensemble are master drummers and dancers and former members of the National Dance Company based at the Center for National Culture in Kumasi, Ghana. This performance is made possible by the Center for World Performance Studies at the U-M International Institute.
