SOLO JAZZ GUITAR
by Jake Reichbart

Born in Goteborg, Sweden, guitar virtuoso Jake Reichbart lived in Winnipeg, Tel Aviv and Amsterdam before settling in Ann Arbor, MI in 1991.  Along his musical journey, he has picked up numerous praises and awards for his performances and recordings, such as the Emily Remler Guitar Scholarship award and winner of the 1992 WEMU Jazz competition for a vocal/guitar duo.  While a noted bandleader and an in-demand sideman, Reichbart’s forte lies in his instrumental solo work, tastefully interpreting classic jazz and pop standards in his unique style.

ARTIST DEMONSTRATION
by Rebecca Lambers

Have you ever marveled at the unfolding of a flower?  Fiber artist Rebecca Lambers has made a life’s work of it.  With a background as a couturiere and inspired by her love of gardens and the relationship
flowers have to their surroundings, Lambers creates exquisite silk flowers.  In this artistic demonstration, attendees will have a chance to meet the artist whose work is on display in the gallery and glimpse the creative process behind the flowers.  In addition to technical skill, Lambers will demonstrate her artistic approach to color, texture and form as she works on flowers using a variety of materials.  This casual demonstration will allow you to ask questions of the artist and watch an individual flower take form.
