Building an Endowment to Ensure the Future of Art & Music at the University of Michigan Health System

Matthew & the late Kerry HutchinsCrediting Gifts of Art with lifting her spirits and helping to pass the time while at the U-M Hospital, Kerry Hutchins from Grand Rapids, Michigan said, “Many things that happen in hospitals are unnatural and, at times, frightening. My family really appreciates the music and art of your program, as it relieves the monotony and boredom of weeks of daily hospital visits. Music and art gives us a focus for conversation about pleasant, non-medical topics." Kerry Hutchins and her family wished as part of her legacy to help share the treasure of Gifts of Art programs.

Please join us and countless others in supporting art & music at the University of Michigan Health System, a tradition of care Greg Maxwell, Betsy Beckerman & Kerry Hutchinsthat is at the heart of the Michigan Difference. Donations to the Gifts of Art Endowment Fund will be matched dollar for dollar up to $5 million.

Now you may contribute to the endowment online. For more information, please visit our donations page.

    Gifts of Art
One of the first and most comprehensive arts in healthcare programs nationwide, Gifts of Art brings the world of art & music to the University of Michigan Health System. During times of stress and illness, the arts have the power to nurture and engage. Gifts of Art programs utilize the arts to assist and enhance the healing process, reduce stress, support human dignity and renew the spirit.

For information about our exhibits, please visit Exhibits. For information about our concerts, visit Performances. Information on all of our other programs, including Bedside Music & Art, the FRIENDS Meditation Garden and the Life Sciences Orchestra, visit Programs.
