Laboratories
The Biogerontology Laboratories are primarily housed in the award-winning, state-of-the art Biomedical Science Research Building (BSRB). Laboratory research conducted by our faculty at the BSRB include research into the cellular, biological and genetic mechanisms of aging and age-related disease. Among these investigations:

- Rheumatoid arthritis and aging (Bruce Richardson)
- Immune function and aging in people (Ray Yung)
- Fruit flies: genetics of heart disease (RJ Wessells)
- Fruit flies: mechanism of food restriction (Scott Pletcher)
- Worms: stress resistance and aging (Ao-lin Hsu)
- Muscle aging (Sue Brooks, John Faulkner)
- Aging and tissue regeneration (Lisa Larkin)
- Resveratrol and sirtuins (David Lombard)
- Aging and hearing loss (Jochen Schacht, David Burke)
- Aging and bone loss (Steve Goldstein)
- Aging in animals (Jim Harper, Rich Miller)
