Outreach Clinics
Important outpatient clinical geriatrics programs are also carried out at the Veterans Affairs Ann Arbor Healthcare System, which is home to the Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC). The GRECC strives to provide new approaches to health care delivery for the geriatric veteran population. GRECC also has an Extended Care Center.
For older adults needing extended care, the Geriatrics Center and University Hospital participate in a preferred provider relationship with Glacier Hills, a life-care retirement community and nursing center in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
A community based out-patient clinic, New Hope Outreach Clinic, offers health care services dedicated to meeting the medical needs and respecting the cultural sensitivities of African American older adults and their families. The clinic's primary mission is to reach underserved African Americans, but is open to all older adults. New Hope Outreach Clinic is located at 229 Chapin Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48103.
